All of Us

Here we are at the ferry crossing in Bavaria going to see one of King Ludwig's smaller castles on an island. (2000)

The dogs - Laddie on the left and Sassy on the right.

Our pets have seen a great deal of Georgia while riding in the jeep, in our tow-behind, bike, kid carrier or on leashes through the trails. (2005)

Sassy in the tree house

This is our adopted dog Sassy in the tree house we built in our backyard when the kids were into the Tree House Mystery book series. (2005)

The kids at Stone Mountain

These are our wonderful outdoor loving kids who just conquered a large boulder at Stone Mountain. (2004)

We are your typical outdoor loving American family of four, six including our cairn terrier Laddie and half cairn terrier Sassy.  Sassy we adopted in Georgia from Petfinder.com  Our family is blessed with two very bright energetic kids and I am blessed with a beautiful wife that loves to go on adventures, many of which are spur of the moment.  We grab a couple of bottles of water, fill the Jeep's tank with gas and find something new to explore.

Since I am on active duty in the U.S. Army we have lived and traveled around the world.  At each place we have enjoyed the adventures that are available to us.  We have traveled throughout New England (since that is where we are originally from).  We have traveled throughout the southeastern states, having been stationed in Georgia twice.  The Kentucky area has been our home on three different occasions and we've lead expeditions through the Mammoth Caves, fished along the Ohio (although we didn’t eat the fish – strictly catch and release).  We camped and canoed along many places throughout and including the Land Between the Lakes, KY.

Throughout Europe we camped in the Black Forest of Bavaria – stopping to shop at the Berkenstock factory.  One of the best trips was a weeklong camping trip to Duerenrel, The Netherlands where we enjoyed the peaceful solitude of the “purely natural sites”, but still swam in the swim-bads throughout the region.

Each area that we have lived in or traveled traveled through has had its own unique outdoor activities.  Georgia, particularly the northeast Georgia Mountains seem to be one of our favorites.  We have lived in Georgia longer than we have in any other area – an entire two and a half years. Our adventures are family friendly places and people that we have met along the way.

If we encounter a particularly rude individual or poor accommodations we cross it off the places that we will visit again and add a new attraction that we want to see.  We all play soccer, pick-up football and are pros at Cul-de-Sac Wiffle ball. We have enjoyed the spectator sports in Georgia watching the Thrashers, Braves, Hawks, Silverbacks and the Falcons on several occasions.  But despite our stay here and our love of the area we have remained true to the best teams in sports…..Go Patriots……Go Red Sox……..
