City Council is set to vote Thursday on a proposed ordinance to
close all bars and clubs at 3 a.m. rather than 4 a.m. Last call
would be at 2 a.m. While the major crimes in Buckhead Village
occurred on various days and at different times of the year, all
happened between 3:40 a.m. and 4:20 a.m., according to Atlanta
Police.
Nightclub owners oppose the ordinance, arguing it will hurt
business and kill the area's appeal to late-night partygoers.
Proponents -- including nearby residents who dislike the noise,
traffic and mayhem -- say Buckhead Village has to be reined in.
