Profile:

Jim Westbrook has served the Stetson School of Business as Coordinator of Academic Affairs for the Atlanta campus since 1998.  Mr. Westbrook’s principal duty is advising new and continuing students, both undergraduate and graduate.  He has been involved with curriculum developments in the BBA and flexible MBA programs for several years, and has a broad knowledge of the School’s academic regulations and their application.  Mr. Westbrook manages the academic honors processes for the School, including invitations to the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, and he publishes the Dean’s Lists for BBA students each semester.  He also supports the Program Directors in screening students’ progress for academic warning and probation actions. 

Mr. Westbrook began teaching at Mercer in 1982 as a part time instructor, joined the faculty full time in 1984, and taught most of the graduate and undergraduate accounting courses until his shift to administrative duties.  A Certified Public Accountant, Mr. Westbrook provides counsel to aspiring accountants as they plan their studies in preparation for entry into the profession. 

A veteran of three years’ active Army service, four years in banking, and four in public accounting, Mr. Westbrook completed his B.A in English at Florida State University in 1969, and his Master of Professional Accountancy at Georgia State in 1978.
