"The History of the Cherokee" Web site is a tribute to the Cherokee people
and culture. This Web site is designed and maintained by Ken Martin, a
Cherokee of mixed-blood and a tribal member of the Cherokee Nation of
Oklahoma.
Because of a life-long interest in Native American cultures, I evaluated
several related Web sites on the Internet for the following criteria:
1) a substantial amount of information
2) interesting topics
3) quality of information
4) appealing graphics
I am submitting this Web site upon the following recommendations:
1) This Web site presents a substantial amount of information.
2) The topics are varied and interesting, and include: history, legends,
genealogy, books and newspapers, involvement in the Revolutionary War and
Civil War, and a moving account of the Trail of Tears.
3) The information is well-presented, educational and fascinating.
4) Graphics include pictures of several significant Cherokee Indians from
the past, their dwellings, newspapers, and maps.
5) Information is given about links to other Web sites related to Native
American events and cultures.
