The original Yard Sale was established by Carlos and Edna Sanchez in
1972. At this time, the business was located in Loredo, Texas. The
business later moved the Waynesboro, Georgia, when Carlos got a job at Vogtle
nuclear power 
plant.
Edna died tragically in 1992 in a hunting accident and Carlos was left to mind
the shop alone. In 1997, Carlos Jr. completed his sentence with the state
and joined his father in Waynesboro. Since then, the two Carlos' have
traveled the southeast in their bus searching for the finest second-hand items
that can be re-sold from their home location. Since they travel throughout
most of the month, The Yard Sale is only open on the fourth weekend of every
month. They usually open by 7:30 Friday morning and are open 8:00 am to
6:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.
