Dr. C. Gerry Mills is Associate Professor of Health Care Management.  Prior to joining Mercer’s Stetson School of Business and Economics  in 2002, Dr. Mills was the Coordinator for the Health Services Administration Program at Florida International University.  After receiving an MBA (Finance) from Georgia State University (GSU) in 1980, Dr. Mills worked as a health care industry consultant in the area of strategic planning.  In 1995, with 20 years experience in the health care industry, he received his Ph.D. in Business Administration (Health Administration) from  GSU and began teaching full time.

Dr. Mills’ consulting experience provides an unlimited source of applications for the concepts taught in the MBA programs.  His classroom activities include guest speakers from government and industry and management simulations based on producers of products as well as services. His courses are presented in the traditional classroom mode, as web-assisted, and as fully web based for asynchronous classes.  Dr. Mills’ research interests focus on access to health services and health services financing. He is currently researching the importance of Social Security payments to the long term care industry.

Dr. Mills divides his free time between professional interests, such as pro bono presentations to the Labor and Employer Research Association and the Georgia Labor Management Conference, and personal interests, such as youth sports where he is a volunteer coach and trainer. His hobbies include boating, fishing and water sports.
