You will each be preparing a PowerPoint that discusses in detail a company's privacy policy. You will each be assigned to work on either Amazon, Apple, Facebook, or Google because they really provide the most "meat" for this project. Make sure you carefully examine what the policy says - and sometimes, doesn't say. They are all chock full of many surprises - and they all all somewhat different, at least in part, because of the different nature of their businesses.

For your assignment, you should discuss the various requirements, nuances, language, etc. in the privacy policy. Understand that the language you see is very important. For example, as we have already discussed, "may" is very popular because it is very permissive. If you see language like "we will not ..." make sure it is as powerful as it may seem; does a phrase like "unless . . " follow that prohibition? Also, as we have seen, a statement like "we will not share any information other than with our trusted affiliates," may not provide much protection unless there is a very narrow definition of "trusted affiliate."
