the youth group
Since we are a small church, we have a small youth group. However, we
are always looking to reach out to new youth in the community. For the
most part, the youth group tries to do some type of small inexpensive activity
to enjoy themselves every other month or so.
Roller-skating, bowling, and putt-putt are examples of activities that might
take place on a weeknight or a weekend.
The biggest activity of the year for the youth group though is Youth Day.
This occurs once a year at CGC. Rick & Darlene Minshew are in charge of
our youth group. They do an excellent job at getting prepared for the big
day.
On Youth Day, which is always a Saturday, the church is opened up for fun
activities for the youth and adults. It's like a small carnival for free
to the public. We make hotdogs, buy chips and drinks and serve everyone
halfway through the day. There are games in different rooms of the church,
a cake walk, face painting, a clown, and all activities win a prize.
Several times throughout the day, the praise band also performs. It is a
great day of indoor and outdoor fun!!
